Today’s my last day in Hawaii. I’m already missing this place that has nurtured my soul for the past 4 months. I came here to help my daughter empty her storage unit, sell off some furniture, and remodel a photo studio, but in the long run, I’ve received much more than I could ever give.
Is it just another day in paradise? Or is it something more?
Each day, no matter where we are, we have the opportunity to connect…
to color an otherwise white world….
with aspects of our soul….
to bring more beauty into every day, ordinary experiences….
by letting ourselves play, discover, and imagine….
to find beauty in the simple, the ordinary, the priceless things that appear in our lives.
Away from the distractions we will find ourselves looking back at ourselves, asking for
It’s important that we listen to these promptings…
Honor our soul’s calling…
Feel into the love that is there for us, just on the other side of the veil (our ego) and keep our connection with Source (God) alive.
First of all, if you are feeling stuck emotions, depression, a sense of helplessness, it’s important to honor those feelings, spend time with them, feel them through and you may find yourself coming out of the tunnel on the other side with some new insights, refreshed energy levels, and some inspiration of what to do next.
Find out what’s blocking you. Dive deep into your feelings to see if you can “see” what’s holding you back. Do you need to let go of something, forgive yourself or someone else, speak your feeling to someone? Or are you just trying to control something that is not yours to control? Practice Self-Reflection. Step out of yourself, and take a serious look at yourself from an objective point-of-view. What do you see?
Sometimes the only thing that will help at the moment is to just take a nap.
Sleep as much as you need to.
Start a journal ~ If you can write every day before you even get out of bed or while you have your morning coffee, just dump all of your thoughts and feelings onto the pages.
I like to do a ‘stream of consciousness” writing where I write down every thing that I am hearing ( like the fan), feeling in my body, any thoughts that come up , random things that I think about. This can give you some insight into what it is that’s bothering you.
It’s also a way of getting in touch with your intuition.
After journaling each day, just say a simple prayer ” Heavenly Father, Divine Mother, Friend, Beloved God, Angels and guides, I surrender these feelings and thoughts to you. show me what I need most today on my journey to self-healing. guide me by your loving hand to make the right choices for my life. If I cannot handle my feelings today, send me an angel to lift me out of despair. Help me to recognize that I am not alone in this life. show me a way to rise above my sorrow and reach out to others. I put my trust in you. Wrap me in your loving arms as I go about my day. Help me to have a deeper understanding of myself and others so that I can feel your Divine presence in every thing. Om _ Peace _ Amen.
Whether it’s a corner of a room or ideally a whole room, decorate it, paint it your favorite color. add uplifting words and pictures, or things from Nature.
Bring in some soothing music or even music that you enjoyed at your happiest times.
Make this your go-to place of retreat where you can work through your feelings and pour your heart out to God or your chosen source of comfort.
Wear your favorite colors. What colors are you drawn to? think about this for a minute. There’s a reason you are drawn to certain colors. They can help heal you! Honor the impulse. buy some new underwear. Go shopping and try on some clothes that are totally out-of-the-box from you usual. Your fantasy self. You may discover that you like some aspects and incorporate them into your wardrobe.
Try wearing natural gemstone jewelry.
Visit a crystal shop and discover which ones you are drawn to. Keep your favorite crystal next to your bed. or on your mini-altar.
Citrine for Joy!
Amethyst for peace.
Rose Quartz for love and connecting to your heart center.
Walk through your home.
Is there any clutter?
Images that don’t uplift?
Old tired or broken furniture?
If so, they are depleting your energy every time you pass by them.
If you can’t muster up the energy to do it yourself, then call someone to come and help you.
a cheerful house cleaner could be just what you need.
Sit down and draw a picture of your home.
Or start with one room.
Put your drawing in a chair and sit across from it.
Have a conversation with this room or with your house drawing.
Ask it what it needs.
Write down what ever comes up.
You may be surprised.
Be sure to take action on whatever it tells you.
This is a fun exercise.
I hope you try it.
Try planting a garden.
Working with plants can be very uplifting.
Bring some fresh greenery indoors. Or a big fresh bouquet of flowers!
Plan an herb garden in your kitchen window.
Open the windows and let the fresh air come in. Bring more light in.
Is there enough lighting in each room? Add some lamps for ambient lighting.
Clean the windows so the natural light can fill your space. This will help you “see” what’s blocking you.
Have you smudged yourself lately?
Sage wand – dispels negative energy and clears the air of heavy dross. It also carries your prayers on the smoke!
Sweet Grass – Brings in the beautiful, positive energies.
Nag Champa insense is used in temples. I always burn this after cleaning a room. It brings a calming influence, and my family loves it!
Palo Santo is my new favorite insense! It brings in a soft intimate feel to the room, enhances intuition, and opens your mind to see more clearly.
This is where I feel most connected to Source. Spend some time hanging out with trees. They are known as the “tall ones standing, praying” in the Native American culture.
They will help you on your journey and lift some of your burdens.
Do you have a pet?
Animals are very prescient of what’s going on with us.
They have been some of my greatest healers.
I used to cry to my cat, Monkey. He would stay with me , purring, comforting me.
I also had the opportunity to care for a boston terrier named Lucy. She would come into my room every morning and get me out for a walk. We would hang out at the park and commune with the trees. I received so much healing during that time.
Hobbies – Do you have a hobby? Now’s the time to dive right in to that hobby. It will help you shift your mind to something creative. Try something new. And remember all art is perfect! and so are you, just the way you are!
Try this prayer, or wish wall hanging made from old magazines, a tree branch, wooden clothespins, some bakers twine, and your positive intentions or affirmations!

I had a dream the other night, half in and out of sleep.
I’ve heard about getting “down loads” from the Universe.
As I was seeing clips of superfoods scroll across my mind, I realized the next morning, that I was getting what I thought must have been a download.
With only a general knowledge of “superfoods”, I started to notice more of them.
I was being urged or guided to eat more of them
…and to find ways to incorporate them into my diet.
I had already discovered the benefits of eating a more raw diet of living, whole foods, such as organic fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds.
I had also been weaning myself away from breads, flour, grains, and dairy, and was noticing a difference in my body like ~
less bloating and inflammation
a feeling of inner stability
a brighter outlook
deeper sleep patterns
my skin is getting smoother, silkier
I was also noticing that I no longer had cravings for candy or chips, or anything unnatural like foods with preservatives.
And the best thing, was that my body knew when it had had enough and when to stop.
Rather than eating a whole bag of chips, a few flax crackers would satisfy me.
Ice cream tasted good at first, but then I noticed I felt heavy afterward and it made a pain in my back flair up.
Whereas, yogurt was half the calories ad made me feel calm and nurtured.
I was gently being guided through food to choose the higher vibration foods and my body was responding and I was able to hear what my body was saying to me.
So, I started listening.
The Life Force in the food had started bringing me home.
It may have cost a little more to buy organic fresh foods, but the dividends were paying off by the way that I felt.
I realized that this is what our Creator had intended for us, and how far we had gotten away from our true nourishment, and been seduced by advertising, beautiful packaging, and false labels of promises that weren’t being met, like non-fat, sugar free, natural, and cage free.
Why had I felt depressed after eating a steak, or sensed an ammonia after taste in the store bought eggs or noticed bruises on the chicken legs? Was I picking up on their distress?
I was beginning to think so…..
The big looming question in your mind at this point is probably….

Greta Garbo, the American-Swedish film actress was famous for saying ” I ‘Vant’ to be alone” when in actuality she said ” I want to be left alone”.
This quote made headlines back in the day.
She was made to appear aloof and unfriendly by the media.
What is it about being alone that as a culture we are so afraid of?
I’ve been so looking forward to my time in Hawaii that I would be spending alone.
My family doesn’t see it that way.
They call and ask if I’m okay. ( It is sweet, I know), and I’m not complaining.
They tell me to arrange some visitors while I’m here.
They send me on errands to get me out of the house and send party invitations for me to attend with people I barely know.
I think they are concerned that I will feel lonely.
And those are all very thoughtful gestures, but I really do want to be alone.
I love getting up in the morning to have my coffee in silence, with birdsong and the wind rustling in the trees, breathing in the fresh morning air.
I like being free to watch my thoughts drift in and out, and kind of check in with myself to see if my thoughts are flowing positive, or if there are any worries or concerns that need to be addressed.
Well, what do you do all day? they wonder.
If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I’m on a path of transformation.
This week I’m doing a cleanse. I’m working with Daily Om for the next 8 weeks on the body challenge.
I’m on a path of study, doing an online course with Christy Whitman, learning to visualize my future self.
I’m also studying Crystal Healing with Katrina Rafael, Color theory with Dougal Frazer, How to get a whole year accomplished in 12 weeks, practicing letting go with Hale Dwoskin, Holosync with Bill Harris, writing this blog and learning how to take it to the next level with Ruth Soukup.
So, basically I’m not alone, as I’ve surrounded myself with all of the above teachers and mentors.
Yesterday I taught myself how to make jam and I’m developing a recipe for flax seed crackers. I posted the recipe here.
I’m learning to wire-wrap gemstones and coming up with my own designs.
I’m very productive with my alone time but still have plenty of time for rest and play.
Yesterday, I danced like no one was watching, and it felt so good – No one was watching by-the-way.
Sometimes, I play music. Sometimes, I just listen to the sounds around me.
Last week, I took myself to the movies to see “Paris Can Wait” with Diane Lane.
Beautiful scenery, great cast, lovely story line. Definitely recommend it.
In the movie, she ( an American) was so used to running on schedules, and the French man that she was travelling with, was actually showing her how to slow down and enjoy the journey. The destination (Paris) was a goal to be met.
How often do we find ourselves, over scheduled, our lives filled up with friends and family, and going to and fro, that we lose touch with who we are, why we are here, and what life is really all about?
How often do we take time from our busy lives to turn off the TV, put the social media down
smell the plumeria
sip the tea
enjoy the journey
share our lives with those we love
and spend time alone for quiet reflection?
After the movie, I took myself out to dinner to California Pizza Kitchen, ordered the Kendall Jackson Reserve chardonnay,( I usually just order the “house” chardonnay), the Caprese Chicken, and had a date, with myself.
It felt a little weird at first, going into a restaurant alone, but I really don’t think anyone noticed, and the waiter was so sweet and very attentive.
I took my time, enjoying every sip, every morsel, and thought about the movie, and how much I like to be wined and dined, the way the Frenchman wined and dined Diane Lane in the movie,, and how I might just fall in love with myself all over again.
Without even trying, her skin began to turn brown from the topical sun.
She didn’t plan for it or sit outside to catch it at it’s highest peak. It just happened.
Perhaps it was carried across through the Tradewinds every afternoon when she took her swim. Or maybe it lived in the cells of the waters waiting to caress her.
She would purposely wait until the light of the great sun was resting behind the trees, casting it’s gentle shadow on the water in the 40 ft. swimming pool.
She was definitely living a life of grace and ease she thought, as she did her laps across the pool.
Finding affirmations of gratitude came easy to her now, as she rested in the confidence that all was well for now with her family.
She wanted to “make hay while the sun was shining” and use this special time to work on herself, to tone her muscles, shed a few pounds, and catch up on some fitness rituals that had been put on the back burner while she strived to make a living. There just had been no time or energy to work on herself, or so she felt. Or maybe she had given up at some point, after losing her love in a tragic car accident, being laid off from her dream job, and then being fired from one that she had hated anyway.
Her prayers had made their way to the Great Unknown, and she had been released from her self-made prison of lethargy, discontent, sorrow, rejection, and loss of Spirit.
She had given in to eating the wrong foods, until one day she had woken up with severe pains in her stomach as though she had been poisoned.
Was it the bread she had so lovingly made from white, bromated flour the day before?
Anyway, that was all behind her now.
She had started to blog about some of her experiences.
Always one who enjoyed new paths of study in the esoteric, she began working with her intuition, strengthening her connection with the Infinite through meditation, visioning, and through writing.
These things came easy to her.
The group of people at work had made vision boards and posted them in the break room. So many had pictures of a tropical getaway, and she wondered if staring at these images had prompted her own trip to the islands.
After 6 months of unemployment, she was requested to come house-sit in Oahu.
Well, how could she say no?
This is where her journey began back to well-ness, weight loss, and getting back in touch with her authentic self.
She had reached retirement age, but not quite ready to retire financially or mentally, she thought this could be a time to reconnect with a part of her who had been lost for a long time.
For the past year, she had been seeing visions of a male companion.
He was always dressed in white and there was a natural contentment that she felt deep in her soul each time she had a new vision, and usually a bit of surprise that it was “him”.
It was someone that she knew, who seemed the farthest thing away from what she would have expected. But isn’t that how love is? And doesn’t it show up when you least expect it?
She returned home to California for six months as the Universe was doing some shuffling of her home circumstances. ‘She began paring back on her possessions, selling some of her treasured pieces that had been in storage.
Her grandson had decided to return to Southern California, her sister would be moving on, and her son was busy making a new life for himself.
She was actively pursuing a new position working as an interior designer when the Universe stepped in during a huge rainstorm, bursting a pipe that flooded the store that she would be working in, causing a delay in plans. The owner called to apologize for the delay, but still no offer of employment.
Then came another offer to come to Oahu. So, what did she have to lose? There must be a reason for all of this, she thought. So, she packed her suitcase for one month, with two pair of jeans, some sleeveless shirts, and underwear. When she was finally approached for employment in May, she told them that she had taken a temporary job, and would come in to see them when she returned.
She decided to stay in Hawaii until August as that was how long she was needed.
Nothing had materialized on the surface of her life yet, in the love department anyway.
Well, maybe a sprinkle of hope. But nothing tangible.
All she knew was that she needed to use this special time of benevolence to take care of herself, carry on with her life, create her art, and let her life unfold naturally, as the workings of Nature always knows the best course.
She trusted that things would unfold at the right time, in the right way.
Her guidance was ” Do nothing. No need to push or strive, but let Nature carry you forward”. and so she was willing to wait, as there was still more work for her to do in her journey of self-healing.

To begin a proper detox you must first get in touch with your body.
If you’ve been using your body like a dumping ground, putting a lot of the wrong foods into it, like I was, then it may take some time.
I will not tell you to stop doing things, but will guide you to start doing things that honor and respect your body temple.
If you follow the guidelines, you will find that your desire for certain food and drink will disappear of their own accord.
This is not a strict diet, or a regimented plan of action, but if you use your intuition, move at your own pace, and put forth the effort you will see many profound changes start to happen.
You will regain hope that it is possible to live in a healthy body at any age.
I will take you through seven days to get you started.

Even though I have only laid out seven days for you, I think you’ll find that this is much easier than it may look at the moment, and will bring much joy to your heart if you choose to continue for a lifetime.
Doing a full-body detox and cleanse takes a bit of planning.
What I offer here for you is the step-by-step plan that was laid out for me when I first arrived in Hawaii, by my guides, or “the higher ups” as I like to call them. You can read about that here.
I will be doing this with you and recommend doing one of these every six months for the rest of your life for full-body maintenance.
With all of the advertising influences and other daily distractions, it can be easy to “fall back” to doing things the old way.
As you progress, all of your senses will be heightened and you will experience more joy bubbling up from within .
You will feel lighter and your inner light will shine brighter and you will begin to experience the world from a whole new perspective.
Do a mental “scan” of your body. Get into a quiet place, lying or sitting. Close your eyes and “scan” your body, getting in touch with any aches or pains. If you are experiencing any maladies in certain areas, send white healing light to that area and ask your body what it needs.
Depression and fatigue are your body’s way of letting you know it’s running on overload – so are aches and pains.
Write down any thoughts or ideas that come to the surface of your mind. This is how your body communicates with you. “Flax seed crackers” came up for me, so I’m working on a recipe that I will be sharing with you.
2. Prepare your shopping list.
Fresh organic fruits and vegetables of your choice
Lean meats, I only use chicken and occasionally wild caught salmon.
Psyllium fiber – you can “dry” blend it for a finer powder. It’s gentler on the body. I mix it in my smoothies.
Green powder – for smoothies.
Plain Greek yogurt – full fat ( non-fat dairy usually has added chemicals and sugar) full fats are more satisfying and will reduce hunger cravings.
For sweet tooth craving – Plain unsweetened apple sauce, Honey or Maple flavored yogurt.
3. Set up a journal to track yourself. Now’s a good time to set your intention. Write out your affirmations. ( I used some extra pages in my planner to set it up. If you have a planner, this is what I recommend. )
4. Weigh in and take your measurements.
5. Before you begin, get in touch with your body.
Get a full body massage.
Go swimming – my fave! Take a slow walk in Nature. Walk barefoot on some grass or dirt, and soak in some sunlight. Do some stretches out doors if possible.
Tune into your beautiful body and thank it for knowing how to take care of you.
6. Now’s a good time to assess your beauty routine.
Look for body products and shampoos that don’t have a lot of cancer causing chemicals in them. What you put “on” your body goes into your blood stream.
Dr. Bronner’s castile soap
Shikai hair products
Virgin coconut oil for moisturizer
Boom Cosmetics for the face and body
Get a natural bristle brush for a dry brush massage.
Stop the use of synthetic perfumes.
Now’s a good time to try some essential oils –
You can make our own blends by adding a few drops to rubbing alcohol or vodka.
I also love the orange blossom and rose petal waters from the Mediterranean market. They are distillations of the blossoms and make a nice base to your essential oils. ( never use an essential oil directly on the body as it could cause a reaction. )
7. Consider doing your laundry with Borax and Arm and Hammer washing soda – you can add some castile soap to this for sudsing action ( grate it first)
8. Eliminate all polyester clothing and bedding from your life.
Polyester has been found through energy testing to lower the auric field.
Switch to natural cottons, linens, and wool and let your aura shine at it’s brightest.
9. Eliminate all hand sanitizers, harsh cleaning chemicals, and artificial room deodorizers from your home.
10. Reduce your use of prescription drugs by adopting a healthy lifestyle.
Your body is a natural healer – but too much toxicity in the body prevents it from doing it’s work.
11. On the second or third day after starting a detox – go in for a colon hydro therapy session or give yourself a few enemas to help your elimination processes evacuate the toxins that your body will be releasing.
If you have had a lifestyle of fast foods, a lot of meat, or processed foods, it would be a good idea to set up a series of regular visits to a colon hydro-therapist.
There could be a build up of plaque along your intestinal walls that’s preventing proper absorption of nutrients and keeping toxins from poor eating habits and prescription drugs in your system.
You will also experience more youthful vitality by keeping your colon clean.
Even coffee can create a tar-like substance in the colon.
12. Probiotics – naturally fermented kombucha sauerkraut, kefir, yogurt should be taken daily.

13. Find ways to get more exercise and move that body.
Play some music and dance like nobody’s watching
Put on your favorite tunes and walk
I like Leslie Sansone’s walking videos when it’s too hot or cold to go outside.
I always park at the farthest spot when shopping and running errands
Whether you do better in group exercise or on your own, I find yoga to be one of the best and most gentle of ways to really get in touch with my body.
There are classes you can sign up for online for pennies a day. Daily Om, and anytime yoga for example.
And you just may find it easier to incorporate a meditation practice into your lifestyle which is essential to living your best life.
Always, always have music that uplifts you, and helps your spirit soar.
No more criticizing your body wishing you had this or that.
It’s time to love your body, be thankful for the miracle that it is, hold your head high, keep your posture straight, shoulders back ( you can align your posture by standing against a wall), stepping out with grace and ease. Step into your light body.
Make a vision board. Visualize yourself in your perfect body. Notice how it feels! Carry that feeling with you the entire day!.
Make your vision board on one of your planner pages. Keep it simple.
You are a gift to the Universe, and by showing up as your best self every day, you will see what a gift you are to yourself.
Go at your own pace, Be gentle on yourself.
Drink 6 – 8 glasses of pure water each day.

By practicing the 27 days of Feng Shui challenge here, and 30 days of Gratitude here at the beginning of the year, I think of the story about Hansel and Gretel leaving bread crumbs along their trail in the forest so they could find their way home upon returning.
We’ve made the clearing by eliminating all of those things that no longer spark joy.
Hansel and Gretel were left in the forest because their parents couldn’t afford to feed them. They expected them to become lost.
The forest is your home. By clearing your clutter you will see your way more clearly.
The bread crumbs
We’ve laid a path of gratitude and love, taking time to appreciate the people, circumstances, and blessing that are present in our lives.
Hansel and Gretel dropped bread crumbs along the path, thinking this would lead them back home. Little did they know, that the critters in the forest were hungry and would eat all of the bread crumbs. (The bread crumbs symbolize insincere prayers that are not heart felt. )
The ginger bread house
There may be distractions along the way. ( When Hansel and Gretel saw the house made of ginger bread, their hunger got the best of them, and all they could think of was devouring that house!)
Habits, moods, circumstances can draw us in and cause us to lose our focus.
We’ve faced head-on some of the less than pleasant things in our lives and hopefully pushed pass them.
Or maybe they found a way to move on.
It seems that everyone is hungry in this story, even the witch! She was planning to eat the children for dinner!
Perhaps, their hunger was a Spiritual Hunger, that could only be satisfied by a Connection to Spirit. ( Everything else can wait, but your search for God cannot wait. Once the connection to your God Source is established, all of your needs are satisfied. )
You may have escaped from “the oven” of uncertainty and witnessed a miracle, or been given more clarity. ( The oven is the Fire of Spirit directing your life and burning up the dross of a matter based existence. )
After the children pushed the witch into the oven, they were free.
Now, it’s time to turn and face the path home and hope the birds haven’t made a meal of your bread crumbs.
Practicing gratitude should be an everyday occurrence by now.
Gratitude promotes prosperity and healing in our lives.
Even if the birds have devoured some of your carefully laid bread crumbs, you can look for other signs to find your way home.
The signs that the Universe brings are sometimes subtle and easy to overlook, to miss all together, or to discount their validity.
And you may not get reminders if you ignore them.
Have you ever regretted not doing something when the signs were all around you?
What kinds of signs can you expect?
You could receive a hunch or an idea.
You might see something that reminds you of someone.
Nature often sends signs.
You could get a strong feeling that every thing’s going to be okay. That could be an Angel whispering in your ear.
You could feel a strong urge to take an action.
You could see a message on a license plate while driving.
Whatever it is, take notice, jot it down in a journal or a notebook, or take action.
Start collecting those bread crumbs or signs that you see along your path.
This is how the Universe guides us.
When we are doing “inner work” there’s a time for sewing the seeds and reaping the harvest.
It takes time.
It’s important to do the work of decluttering, training our minds to expect the best, pushing through adversity, and practicing patience through trust and faith.
Watch for the signs and be ready to act when an opportunity presents itself.
