Full Body Cleanse and Detox

Where do I start?

To begin a proper detox you must first get in touch with your body.

If you’ve been using your body like a dumping ground, putting a lot of the wrong foods into it, like I was, then it may take some time.

I will not tell you to stop doing things, but will guide you to start doing things that honor and respect your body temple.

If you follow the guidelines, you will find that your desire for certain food and drink will disappear of their own accord.

This is not a strict diet, or a regimented plan of action, but if you use your intuition, move at your own pace, and put forth the effort you will see many profound changes start to happen.

You will regain hope that it is possible to live in a healthy body at any age.

I will take you through seven days to get you started.

Please join me on this journey.

Even though I have only laid out seven days for you, I think you’ll find that this is much easier than it may look at the moment, and will bring much joy to your heart if you choose to continue for a lifetime.

Doing a full-body detox and cleanse takes a bit of planning.

What I offer here for you is the step-by-step plan that was laid out for me when I first arrived in Hawaii, by my guides, or “the higher ups” as I like to call them.  You can read about that here.

I will be doing this with you and recommend doing one of these every six months for the rest of your life for full-body maintenance.

With all of the advertising influences and other daily distractions, it can be easy to “fall back” to doing things the old way.

As you progress, all of your senses will be heightened and you will experience more joy bubbling up from within .

You will feel lighter and your inner light will shine brighter and you will begin to experience the world from a whole new perspective.

13 steps to a new body.

  1. Do a mental “scan” of your body.  Get into a quiet place, lying or sitting.  Close your eyes and “scan” your body, getting in touch with any aches or pains.   If you are experiencing any maladies in certain areas, send white healing light to that area and ask your body what it needs.

Depression and fatigue are your body’s way of letting you know it’s running on overload – so are aches and pains.

Write down any thoughts or ideas that come to the surface of your mind.  This is how your body communicates with you.   “Flax seed crackers” came up for me, so I’m working on a recipe that I will be sharing with you.

2.  Prepare your shopping list.

Fresh organic fruits and vegetables of your choice

Lean meats, I only use chicken and occasionally wild caught salmon.

Psyllium fiber – you can “dry” blend it for a finer powder.  It’s gentler on the body. I mix it in my smoothies.

Green powder – for smoothies.

Plain Greek yogurt – full fat ( non-fat dairy usually has added chemicals and sugar)  full fats are more satisfying and will reduce hunger cravings.

For sweet tooth craving – Plain unsweetened apple sauce, Honey or Maple flavored yogurt.

3.  Set up a journal to track yourself.  Now’s a good time to set your intention.  Write out your affirmations.  ( I used some extra pages in my planner to set it up.  If you have a planner, this is what I recommend. )

4.  Weigh in and take your measurements.

5. Before you begin, get in touch with your body.

Get a full body massage.

Go swimming – my fave!  Take a slow walk in Nature.  Walk barefoot on some grass or dirt, and soak in some sunlight.   Do some stretches out doors if possible.

Tune into your beautiful body and thank it for knowing how to take care of you.

page from kikki k planner

6.  Now’s a good time to assess your beauty routine.

Look for body products and shampoos that don’t have a lot of cancer causing chemicals in them.  What you put “on” your body goes into your blood stream.

I recommend

Dr. Bronner’s castile soap

Shikai hair products

Virgin coconut oil for moisturizer

Boom Cosmetics for the face and body

Get a natural bristle brush for a dry brush massage.

Stop the use of synthetic perfumes.

Now’s a good time to try some essential oils –

You can make our own blends by adding a few drops to rubbing alcohol or vodka.

I also love the orange blossom and rose petal waters from the Mediterranean market.  They are distillations of the blossoms and make a nice base to your essential oils.  ( never use an essential oil directly on the body as it could cause a reaction. )

7.  Consider doing your laundry with Borax and Arm and Hammer washing soda – you can add some castile soap to this for sudsing action ( grate it first)

8.  Eliminate all polyester clothing and bedding from your life.

Polyester has been found through energy testing to lower the auric field.

Switch to natural cottons, linens, and wool and let your aura shine at it’s brightest.

9.  Eliminate all hand sanitizers, harsh cleaning chemicals, and artificial room deodorizers from your home.

10.  Reduce your use of prescription drugs by adopting a healthy lifestyle.

Your body is a natural healer – but too much toxicity in the body prevents it from doing it’s work.

11.  On the second or third day after starting a detox – go in for a colon hydro therapy session or give yourself a few enemas to help your elimination processes evacuate the toxins that your body will be releasing.

If you have had a lifestyle of fast foods, a lot of meat, or processed foods, it would be a good idea to set up a series of regular visits to a colon hydro-therapist.

There could be a build up of plaque along your intestinal walls that’s preventing proper absorption of nutrients and keeping toxins from poor eating habits and prescription drugs in your system.

You will also experience more youthful vitality by keeping your colon clean.

Even coffee can create a tar-like substance in the colon.

12.  Probiotics – naturally fermented kombucha sauerkraut, kefir, yogurt should be taken daily.

It’s so easy to make your own – visit Cultured Food Life to learn more about this.

13.  Find ways to get more exercise and move that body.

Play some music and dance like nobody’s watching

Put on your favorite tunes and walk

I like Leslie Sansone’s walking videos when it’s too hot or cold to go outside.

I always park at the farthest spot when shopping and running errands

Whether you do better in group exercise or on your own, I find yoga to be one of the best and most gentle of ways to really get in touch with my body.

There are classes you can sign up for online for pennies a day.  Daily Om, and anytime yoga for example.

And you just may find it easier to incorporate a meditation practice into your lifestyle which  is essential to living your best life.

Always, always have music that uplifts you, and  helps your spirit soar.

No more criticizing your body wishing you had this or that.

It’s time to love your body, be thankful for the miracle that it is, hold your head high, keep your posture straight, shoulders back ( you can align your posture by standing against a wall), stepping out with grace and ease.  Step into your light body.

Make a vision board.  Visualize yourself in your perfect body.  Notice how it feels!  Carry that feeling with you the entire day!.

You are a gift to the Universe, and by showing up as your best self every day, you will see what a gift you are to yourself.

The Event: The Wave — Era of Light

Greetings! From heart to heart in this moment we speak, I am KejRaj(KayRy). The reason I say ‘we’ speak is because besides my self choosing to deliver this message, I know I am also being guided by other forces in this journey.

via The Event: The Wave — Era of Light

I’m sharing this today, because I want to urge everyone to take time to meditate and become heart centered.  Today, I had a glimmer of this new “wave” that is coming in.  I felt such tremendous love for everyone, and it’s important that you are ready when this comes.  Mahalo

Why Worry? and what you can do about it.

Do you ever find yourself worrying about something, imagining the worst outcome of something over which you have absolutely no control over?

I’ve probably spent at least 30% of my life worrying.  No, maybe even 50%!

I’ve worried about my children, relationships, money, health, loss, always fearing what “could” happen.

I even worry about my car getting a flat tire while I’m driving on the freeway.

At some point, I decided that worrying was a futile attempt, as it didn’t do a bit of good for me or anyone else.

I realized that I was only sending the vibration of worry out into the Universe.

Worry is a non-constructive effort.

When my son was in high school was when I finally realized that worrying about him walking the streets at night was pointless.

That’s when I took up water color quilting.

Exuberantcolor/Wanda S. Hanson

I could spend all of that time and energy on something creative.

I could spend the time used for worrying, cutting, and piecing together the pictures that I wanted to create.

Water color quilt by Wanda S. Hanson

My mind would be healed as I worked with the colors and focused on creating something beautiful.

Color Wash quilt by Wanda S. Hanson

It Worked!

I would become so lost in my art that time previously spent on worry, was replaced with a mind that wanted to create beautiful things.  And the time would pass so quickly!.

I just had to trust that my son would be okay.  And one night, when he arrived home, he sat down with me, and started helping me place some of the squares.  A very special moment for me.

Another thing I learned was to imagine a white light surrounding whatever it was that I was worried about.

Whether it was my car, a person, or a situation, I would call in my angels, ask for their help and protection, and put a white light of protection around it.

Then I would just hand it over to God.

I trained my little ego mind to delegate it’s concerns to the greater power.

I still worry at times.

But now, I recognize what’s happening, and redirect it’s course before it takes over.

I just live one day at a time and focus on the Now as much as possible.

Live each moment to the fullest and let the future take care of it’s self.

Now that I’m older, I even have less lines of worry on my forehead.

They’ve been softened and smoothed by the Angels.

Worry ends when faith begins.

For we walk by faith not by sight.  2 Cor. 5:7

Finding Sacred Space in a troubled world

Sacred Space

There’s no doubt in my mind that our world is changing and how our recent election in the U.S. has really stirred-the-pot, shaken people to their core, and hopefully gotten each person to take a look inside and re-visit core values.

I think of all the classes that I took when attending CSU Sacramento, Mass Media and Society is the one that had the most impact.  What I took away from that class gave me direction on how I wanted to live my life.

Over the years since, I have seen how television and the media has changed and how it has changed people.

I imagined that in the 50’s, the powers-that-be got together and had meetings on how to “market” a new set of standards to the American public.

There was a standard put in place, through the media, that women should stay home, kids should eat sugary cereals, and that smoking was a cool thing to do, and we rarely saw people of color on TV.

Fast forward to the present, where we see the impact of the media being sold to our children.  How many children have cell phones, X Boxes, TV’s in their bed rooms?

Mass media, a form of brainwashing, is welcomed in almost every household as a necessity.  We cannot operate without phones, computers, and TVs.

The people in marketing are studying trends so they can make the most profit when a need is trending.

Think about this for a moment:  The more fast food, processed food that the population eats, the sicker the majority becomes which leads to bigger hospitals, more pharmaceuticals needed, and why not focus on the family pet while they’re at it.  Every day, we are being promoted to by billboards, magazine, radio, television, cell phones, pop up ads to use drugs.

Mass media has done it’s job to create fear and mistrust and blind trust in general.

Enough said….

So, with all of this, where do we go to find Sacred Space, where we can be left alone with our own thoughts, our own ideas, our own feelings, and stay in connection with our Divine presence?

Do we have to wait for a vacation to find a spot in Nature where we can reconnect with our essence?

Do we have to wait for a Sunday to attend religious services?

Have we lost touch with what’s real vs. what’s fed to us through the media?

Has the media pre-empted our need for a spiritual connection?

Is it luring us away from our innate truth, our authenticity, our understanding, intuition, and our compassion for people as a whole?

Creating Sacred Space in the home is a critical necessity in this day and time, a Cottage value, if you will, to make a place in your home, in each room even, to establish your family’s values, to anchor the presence of the Divine in your life, to remind you of your core values.

There is a Hawaiian prayer used for healing of everyday life:

It means:

I love you (God or the God in you and me)

I’m sorry ( for at times losing this connection)

Please forgive me (for forgetting that I am Love)

Thankyou ( for blessing me always)

When repeated in the mind’s eye these words can bring profound and miraculous healing.

The words can be internally repeated when we feel fear, when we have issues, to a body part or pain, to our rooms,to our family, friends, and pets, to those who are deceased, to the world, to God.

Each person can take this and embrace it as their responsibility or choose to ignore it, and let the powerful force of the mass media control their thoughts.

The words of the Ho’oponopono prayer are powerful cleansing tools to erase from our consciousness the tapes recorded over our lifetimes that are embedded in our unconscious and affect our lives everyday.

These words can create the sacred space necessary to hold onto the connection with our Creator, to anchor us in the Divine’s embrace.

It is a simple tool, when used with sincerity can cleanse old pains that are keeping us stuck in fear, and show us a way to carry on in the face of difficulties.

It is a tool that can bring such a feeling of love inside that you will feel like you have found Heaven on Earth, as it is life-changing.

It is the safest, most private way to carry your Sacred Space within your heart, where no one can take it away from you, no matter what happens.

I didn’t know where I was going with this post.  At first, I thought I would be talking about mini-altars in the home, but I was led to understand that each person needs to carve a Sacred Space right in their heart by using the healing prayer of Ho’Oponopono.

Like I said, the pot has been stirred, and each person is being called to tunnel into their heart and create your sacred space in the sanctity of your own soul and keep the fire stoked by using the cleaning prayer.

By God’s grace, I love you, I’m sorry, Please forgive me, Thankyou.

Dear Diary…Day 7…of the 27 things for 27 days countdown….

It’s time to lift the veil!  Feng shui is more than most people may imagine.  It’s a matter of life and death.

I woke up earlier than usual this morning.  I feel like it’s time to take this clutter clearing business to the next level.  I feel like some people may not want to hear this, or even deal with this level.

We are such creatures of habit and have been schooled by the T.V. for the past 65 years or so.

I remember our first T.V. It had a rounded greenish screen enclosed in a wooden case on legs.  It was black and white.

Every Sunday, Dad would pick up a dozen donuts and we would head over to our cousins house, the kids riding in the back of the pick-up, to watch the Walt Disney Hour.

Until 7:30pm, when the show started, all of us cousins, 3 boys, 2 girls, and some of the neighbor kids, would play “Ditch”, where we formed teams and played “Hide and Seek” all up and down the street.

When the television marketers began to see what a valuable tool mass media could be in relationship to selling to a larger audience, and how the use of ads and commercials could influence Society’s buying decisions, a new monster was born.

All of that being said, even though I could go on and on, I really want to focus on the beliefs that have been hypnotically induced by advertisements and the media.

The beliefs in products that are advertised to make our lives better, that are in the long run, making our society sicker by bringing chemicals into our homes that cause all sorts of illness, foods that create tension, apathy, brain fog, and rob our bodies of energy while silently killing us, and causing diseases that are passed on to our future generations.

As people become more aware and stop using products and foods that are laden with chemicals that are robbing us of our ability to use our intuition by desensitizing our minds, our bodies , to our very own senses, our planet will begin to heal.  Our quality of life will return.

It’s time to return to our Grandmother’s and Grandfather’s ways.  The ways of living simply.

We’ve become frazzled consumers by trying to live up to some ideal, super human, type A lifestyle, where every thing is germ-free, over-saturated with chemicals, and full of uppers and downers just to cope with every day life.

I say, that’s what the “veil” is all about.  It’s keeping us distracted from who we truly are.

I’ve seen a lot of people in the last few years whose life has been turned upside down.

Whether it’s the loss of a job, the loss of a loved one, a sudden change in a way of life through catastrophe, or health issues, the Universe is issuing a wake-up call.

And now is the time that we take the universe seriously.

It’s time we listen to the call that comes from the bees that are dying, to the whales and the dolphins who continue their mass beachings due to sonic testing and plastic pollution in our oceans.

This is a cottage necessity for our future generations.

My Dear Cottage Mavens,

Here are some things that you can do today, this week, to bring more peace and stability into your homes and to help heal our planet.

  1. Go through your pantry and remove all processed foods or anything with chemicals that you cannot pronounce.
  2. Avoid shopping down the processed food isles in the grocery stores.
  3. Discard all toxic cleaning products, hazardous products,” perfumed ” products like heavily perfumed laundry soaps, fabric softeners, anti-bacterial soaps, hand sanitizers, etc.
  4. Think about the products you use every day and the long term investment in you and your family’s health.
  5. Do your deodorants contain aluminum?  Does your toothepaste contain Flouride?  Is your diet full of sugar?  ( these will dull your I.Q. and lead to Alzheimers and cancers).
  6. Aspartame which caused early death and tumors in rats is now in most candies, diet drinks, and anything artificially sweetened.
  7. High fructose corn syrup is genetically modified.  So is anything made with wheat, canola, and soy.  If it’s designed to kill bugs, it has to be killing our gut bacteria.
  8. Take a before and after picture of your self, and our housemates.  The inflammation and the bloating will decrease, as many allergies, headaches, aches and pains, depression, lethargy, just not feeling good will lift away.
  9. The agitation, the nervousness, the aches and pains in your body will start to leave as you return your body to it’s natural state of being .
  10. Your intuition will become more clear, your sense of smell will return, your eye sight may improve, and you’ll experience a state of well-being, which will carry you through every day occurences with more ease and resilience.
  11. Check your prescriptions for side effects, and look for natural alternatives.  Are you willing to sacrifice other areas of your well-being by taking these things into your body?

These are things that we cannot see or notice because they happen over a long period of time.

They are the silent killers that are the plagues in today’s society.  And they are being marketed to our children every day through the media.

Our homes are our sanctuaries.  We have control over what can come in and serve our greater well-being.

This is only a place to start as we educate ourselves, our families, and our friends.

So, start today.  This may be the biggest clutter clearing yet!

It’s time to lift the veil and live your Greatest Self!

Affirmation:  The divine Design of my life now comes to pass.  I now fill the place that I can fill and no one else can fill.  I now do the things which I can do and no one else can do.  Florence Scovill Shinn

Dear Diary…Day 21…count down of the 27 day feng shui challenge

March Planner

Wow!  7 Days have passed, and I’ve been busy clearing, organizing, and purifying my home of unwanted things.

Today, I took out 27 items to recycle!

Yesterday, I went out to sell some gold jewelry that I never wear.

While I was out, I received a text that a friends company was hiring.

I told her that I would bring my resume in the following day, and hopefully get a chance to speak with the manager.

So many people, like my son! just think I’m a dreamer.  As long as they continue to think that way, and not dig deeper by trying these things out,  they may never know how we can work with the Universal Laws.

Now, as I am making room for” what is mine” to come into my life, the results are beginning to present themselves, in “unseen ways”.  That’s why it is so important to trust!

It’s important that we still do our part.

  1. We have to set our intentions of what we want
  2. Write our goals down so that we can review them
  3. Continue with the process of removing the items that drag us down
  4. Have faith that what is ours will come in perfect timing and perfect abundance
  5. Keep a positive mind-set so that our life is flowing.  Negative thoughts will block our progress.

My daughter got me started with journaling, using the Washi tape and stickers, when I was in Hawaii.  We had so much fun.  She would pull out all of her endless supply of stickers and Washi tape, colored pens, and we would get busy planning our coming months.

I didn’t know what a big deal it was, until I had a conversation with a lady in the local hobby store.  She admitted that she had more that 300 rolls of Washi Tape!  She was addicted!

I’ve come to believe that Beautifying our journal/planner can be another form of visioning and feng shui.  Our lives can work on a higher order when we are actively writing down our intentions, dreams, and ambitions.

And using the colorful patterns can only bring more joy!

Inspiration for a little night stand.

I’m becoming more clear on what I want for my life as I go through this process.  Only 7 Days have passed, and I’ve already had so many wonderful experiences.

Cottage Mavens, I do hope that you will give this process a try.  It can only benefit you in Miraculous Ways!

Today’s affirmation:  I am undisturbed by appearances.  I trust in God – and He now brings to me the desires of my heart.  My good now overtakes me in a surprising way.  ( Florence Scovill Shinn)

I Fell in Love with My Therapist

What happens when you fall in love with someone but you can’t do anything about it?

Been there?  Done that?

Love can be so unexpected sometimes.  It can come when and where we aren’t expecting it,  and drop us on our bazoonga like we didn’t know what hit us.

Here’s a scenario –

Handsome doctor always has lots of eager and beautiful women in his waiting room…

Example:  my kids’ pediatrician, tall, dark, and handsome seemed to always have a waiting room full of young women who showed up in makeup and heels.

You see it in movies.  New doctor in town.  All the eligible women have suddenly come down with an unexplainable ailment.

When I was 40, I dislocated my knee, and once it was put back in place, I needed to see a physical therapist once a week.

He was a Libra, tall, dark-shoulder length hair, smoldering, velvet brown eyes, a virtual Adonis! and we hit it off immediately.  I was smitten! I would eagerly go to every session, and let him bend my knee ever so slowly until I was completely back to normal.

At the time, I worked as a beauty advisor for Lancôme, and mentioned that he could come by and do some shopping.

Well, one day he took me up on my offer and showed up with his beautiful fiancé, and asked me if I would show her how to do her makeup!

I was crushed!  I had no idea.  but , I’m very professional, very much in control of my feelings, did a lot of self-talk, and moved on. Our time together was only for that healing that I needed and I needed to put my little girl’s heart into a safe place and move on.

When I was in college, I had an English teacher, who when I first met him, it was like we were in a bubble, just the two of us, communicating on some etheric level.

It was hard for me not to stare at him when I was in class.  I would find reasons to visit him in his office.

But, alas, he was married.  so, I invited him and his wife to one of my plays.  I was performing in repertory theater.  My part was the lead, Janet, in “Baby with the Bathwater”.

He came, I met his wife, and I knew the show must go on and so shall the girl.

I’m not inexperienced in love.  I believe that we can have more than one soulmate over a life time.

Circumstances have a lot to do with making the decision to stay in a relationship.

I moved away from a soulmate relationship when he didn’t make an effort to know my children.

10 years later, I meet another soulmate, and he’s killed in a car crash.

It seems like a 10 year cycle passes for me and then God sends me another soulmate.

So, I guess you could say I was due to meet someone.

I had climbed back into my “cave”, as my daughter describes it, and not dated anyone since Bob died.

I had gained weight, stopped looking, not even interested.  I even stopped wearing makeup.  My favorite outfit was my “mommy jeans”, a t-shirt, and tennis shoes.  I had resigned myself to being single for the rest of my life. I’m independent!  I can take care of myself.  And then, I spent a year in Hawaii.

Maybe it’s the Mana (energy) in Hawaii, I’m not sure…

Juicy tidbit:  The astrological energy n Hawaii rules the groin.  Maybe that’s why so many people honeymoon there!

My journey, I had decided was to “work on self, detox, lose weight, figure out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life, and just rest”.

But, the Universe, always full of surprises, seemed to have something else in store.

Upon first meeting, J.T. and I hit it off.  We were close to the same age.  When I first saw him, he looked familiar, and reminded me of someone I had known long ago…

It was agreed that I would see him once a month for a therapy session during my stay in Hawaii.

We talked about family, friends, and we had a lot in common.  We were even both raised as Lutherans and had departed from conventional religion in our early 20’s.

He was very patient, nurturing, understanding, compassionate, and possessed a swarthy handsomeness that I so adore.

And he was funny, and did I mention his green eyes?  A girl’s downfall, to be sure!

Even though, all of these things were apparent, I was determined to focus on my own healing, keep my own council, and not go off the deep end.

And even though there seemed to be some beautiful feelings growing between us, he did the same.  He was always the professional.

Being so overwhelmed with feelings, like I was entering into some kind of relationship, I worked hard to keep my emotions intact.

This is how well I did…

I spent time alone pouring my feelings out into a journal, crying with a heart that was bursting with a love that I couldn’t express.

I would get all giddy before my appointments at the thought of seeing him, then become so nervous, and have shortness of breath before I went into his office, completely composed.

Basically, I was a mess!

I poured over books like, ” He’s Just Not That Into You” and ” Why Men Love Bitches”, determined to keep my self control.

And then, after a couple of months, noticing some feminine touches around his office, like a pink floral welcome mat, pictures that were re-hung, and furniture rearranged, and I felt another energy present.  I understood that he had someone in his life.

Sometimes, I felt like maybe I should be brave, and just tell him how I feel.

But my inner council said, “He already knows”.

And I realized, upon reflection, and after watching a movie about a therapist/patient relationship, that it was a “common occurance” to fall in love with your therapist, and shouldn’t always be acted upon.

My journey was to learn to love myself first.  And to understand, that ” What is mine, will come to me”.

I’m so grateful to have had this special capsule in time with him.  He helped me in so many ways.  At least, I was able to express my appreciation and gratitude for all that he did for me.   It was truly a profound and beautiful time n my life.

Even now, as I sit here in California writing this, my heart is full.

Love never dies, but sometimes it may be necessary to move on.  I had to wait for some time to pass before I could even think of writing this to share.  But hopefully, someone will benefit from this personal experience.  Much love to you all, and I hope that you have loved with all of your heart, at least once in your lifetime.

I love you, I’m sorry, please forgive me, Thank you.

Please leave a comment below, if you feel moved to.

How I use My Zone of Tranquility

via Photo Challenge: Solitude          Continued from “Creating a Zone of Tranquility”

I wanted to sit right down and start writing some thoughts to improve the article, about creating a Zone of Tranquility, when I realized that I needed to take some of my own advice, the advice that this article is all about……. finding a place for Solitude, Creating a Zone of Tranquility, as it’s called in Vastu, which is another term for Indian Feng Shui.

But here’s my question;  How often do I use it?  Not often enough, I can tell you that!

And how long does it take to find the clarity I’m talking about?

This muddy water has been sitting still for over a week

It’s taken this mud over a week to begin to finally settle, and it has been sitting still 24/7, and it still isn’t clear.

So, how long does it take our minds, when they are being constantly bombarded with new information, and what can we do to take the process of clearing our minds one-step-further?

You may have stopped watching television, or at least, edited what you do allow to enter your mind by being more selective about what you give your attention to.

You may have already carved out a sacred space in your home to use as your place of Solitude, your Zone of Tranquility.

You may even have limited the amount of time you spend on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Etsy, Ebay , Shopify, and email to a reasonable time period.

But how do you spend those 15 minutes per day of ” clearing obscurations-of-the-mind”?

And what if I can’t get into a sitting pretzel position on the floor to meditate?

And what can I use to help me, once I do figure out the correct posture to begin?

This is my Zone

My Dear Cottage Mavens!  I can only share with you my experience, and hope that you will be able to create your “zone” that is unique to you.

I like to sit in a comfortable chair, preferably a wingback because it has good back support.  But any chair will do as long as you can plant your feet firmly on the floor.  I also like a pillow at my back to support my lumbar, and a soft blanket to wrap up in.

This is called the” Westerner’s siitting meditation posture “coined  by Paramahansa Yogananda.  Here are some guidelines:

  1. Sit up straight in a chair
  2. Eyes closed and focused between the eyebrow
  3. Head erect
  4. Feet flat on the floor
  5. Palms resting on the thighs at the juncture of the abdomen

The reason to keep the eyes focused between the eyebrows is because if they are lowered, your thoughts will begin to stray.

Keeping the back straight and head erect, align the spine to receive Divine Light from Source, and to help you stay awake.

I like to hold two palm stones in my hands.  My favorite stones or crystals to hold are Rose Quartz, clear quartz, and amethyst. It’s a personal choice.  You can even go look in your garden fr a couple of smooth rocks that fit comfortably in your palms.

They all have a living vibration, and I’ve noticed a feeling of groundedness, and I go deeper into the silence.

Today, I sat with two rose quartz crystals.

Sitting quietly, calming the mental chatter, I began feeling a wash of chills flowing through my body.

For me, this confirms the presence of my Angels and guides.

This is when I take a moment to let the blessings flow over me, as though my whole body is being cleansed, healed, and burdens are being lifted and transformed.

This is the feeling of pure and total bliss that is waiting for you.

I also take this time to express gratitude and give thanks for the healing vibration that I’ve experienced for body, mind, and soul.

Today I asked my rose quartz if they had a special message to impart.

” They help in reaching a state of calmness and help in connecting us to the heart center”  Rose Quartz

I can affirm this to be true.

When I wear rose quartz as jewelry, I’ve noticed that my connection with others is more intimate, and heart centered.

Learning to meditate

is not easy at first, and it takes years of practice.  Every time you sit, you will have a different experience.

Once learned and established as a way of life, it will change you in miraculous ways.

Running, gardening, knitting, painting are meditative practices, and will raise your vibration, but cannot be compared to having the lasting and profound effects of a sitting meditation practice.

You’ve decluttered your home…now let’s create a “Zone of Tranquility”

imageJanuary…after the holiday decorations come down , we start to consider the whole house “purge”.   Over the course of one year,  I can accumulate so much extra stuff that I just don’t have storage for ,that it can seem like overload. That’s when I know it’s time for the “big clean out”.  Last year, I read Marie Condo’s book about the Magic of tidying up and was inspired to clean the whole house!                                                                                                 This year I stumbled upon “the nester’s” blog and fell in love with her concept of quieting each room by removing everything but the main pieces, cleaning, then putting back into the room only what you truly want in there, or can I say it? What brings you Joy!                    I even blogged about my kitchen and cleaning “mindfully” and discovered that I really didn’t need things that I had once thought were important.                                                         So, let’s get on with a topic that I’ve been wanting to write about for quite a while.  Whether you have already mindfully purged to your hearts content, or are just in the beginning phases ,because there are so many great sales going on, please take this to heart and try it.  It could just change your life.                                                                                             I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, “no rest for the wicked”.                                                                        Book of Isaiah. V48:22.                                                      “There is no peace, saith the Lord , unto the wicked.    But the wicked are like the troubled sea,  when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.  There is no peace saith my God to the wicked. “

I conducted a mini-science experiment on my dining room table.  I put some mud and water into a glass mason jar and stirred it up.

This symbolizes our minds.  How when we try to work with a cluttered mind – our vision is not clear, it’s cloudy, as seen in the photo.

Think of a glass of water with mud in it.   img_2496                                                                                              When you stir it up, the water is cloudy, like an agitated mind, that doesn’t make good decisions, and is impatient, and unkind to others, and oneself.       Life doesn’t go so well for the cloudy mind.

this is after sitting still for one week!

The clear water when the mud has settled, can only be achieved by stillness.   When the mind is clear of agitation, our life starts to flow. We recognize the signs, and make clear-headed decisions.  We are more patient, kinder to others, and are more in tune with ourselves. It takes practice, though.

The clear water doesn’t happen over night!

Give yourself permission to carve out a corner in your home that is just for you.    Carving out a place in the home ,a zone of tranquility, is a Cottage Necessity.  It is necessary to our well being to have a place where you can reflect upon your day, read, craft, pray , and meditate, write your goals, and just BE. image                                                                                                                                                                               When we don’t give ourselves the time for rest and reflection,  it’s easy to get information overload, and have too many thoughts, conversations, and shoulds running across our brain.  I’m not sure what Isaiah meant by wicked, except that the restless, or agitated mind is disconnected from Source, and we forget our true essence of our oneness with Source , or God.   Once you’ve carved out your zone of tranquility, or sacred space, make a point to spend at least 15 minutes per day just sitting with yourself, in the silence, listening to soft music, or just the sounds outside your window.         You deserve it!                  Let’s start a movement where we make our homes a haven, a retreat from the world, where we take time to connect with Source , and send out our prayers of love and peace to everyone!     Practice Ho’oponopono….  I love you, I’m sorry, please forgive me, Thankyou.       To Be Continued…….Using my Zone of Tranquility….

Walking My Talk Part Two

or……When God pours you out a blessing, be ready to receive it!

Sometimes, when you put your requests out to the Universe, and you have a catalyst, like Braco (see Part One), helping you broadcast your intentions, you never know what to expect.

I did not have any specific ideas about how I wanted to take the excess weight off, but the very next day, it’s as if I was picked up off my duff, and was put on the very road that I needed to be on.  And I was facing in the right way! Here is my before shot…..

That’s me directing my 9 year old grandson on the shot.

In the last Walking My Talk post, I had just found out that my daughter’s flight was delayed and that I would have to fill in for her for the 2 hour Lomi Lomi, Hot Rock Massage!  Whoo Hooo!

Here is a bird’s eye view of how the next few weeks unfolded:

Feb. 24.25 Braco live streaming ( Braco.me)

Feb. 25 Hot Rock Massage with Jennifer – 2 hours of aromatherapy, hot rock, and deep tissue massage to release the toxins and reset my intentions

3/3 Colonic  – This was the first time I had ever had this done.  My daughter and I went together.  It is basically, Hydro-therapy to clean the colon and help it expell old toxic waste. Later, I will tell you more about the beneficial side-effects that come after.

3/4 Aura Healing and Cleansing with Jackie – one hour long, Jackie works on the ethereal realms to restore your aura, and call back parts of your soul that may have left due to trauma, etc.  For me, she called back of part of me to come home to my Heart center.  She said that many people have shattered auras that are in need of healing.

3/4 Haircuts at the DADA Salon in Honolulu.  My daugher gets these perks through her business.  This included a head, neck, and shoulder massage.

3/5 Mani-Pedis at the Creative Nails Salon.  This included a leg and foot massage, as well as hand and arm massage.

Then it was off to the Women’s Korean Day Spa for a two hour full body massage and salt scrub.  First you get into a hot tub for a good soak to soften the dead skin, then you go into a common room, and lay on a vinyl covered table, where you receive a full body scrub to remove all of the dead skin from head to toe, a fresh cucumber facial, and a hot oil massage.  They even wash your hair.  In between, you get dowsed with buckets of warm water to rinse off.  My modus of operandi is to just let my body go limp like a rag doll, and let the masseuse do her magic.  I never saw so much dead skin roll off my body, and my skin was silky smooth for days.

3/6 Unity Church in Honolulu for an uplifting message which included Hawaiian music and Hula dancing.

3/12 Facial with Mara.  A beautiful, relaxing experience to clean the pores and soften the skin.

3/12 Foot Reflexology with Auntie Angel.  This was supposed to last 2 hours, but Auntie and I had so much in common, and got to talking, that it went for over 3 hours!  After that, I took her to dinner at Zippy’s for some chili and hot coffee.  I stayed with the cleanse and had a salad.  After our meal, we went to the house to pick up my daughter, and then off to Kapiolani Park, in the evening, for more healing using the ancient Hawaiian Ha technique.

So, my friends, the Universe had set me on my course of healing and losing the weight by starting me off with a series of detoxification of the body, getting in touch with the body, and letting go!

I had no idea that this was probably a step that a lot of people miss when they decide to lose weight.  With years of stress, poor choices in food, and lack of exercise, the body can store and block all kinds of toxins, traumas, and grief that if stored for too long under the wrong circumstances can lead to poor health, illness, and early death.

Before embarking on a program, ask your self these questions:

Have I been eating processed, or genetically modified foods?

Have I suffered from trauma, like illness, divorce, death of a loved one, personal issues?

Am I living my best self every day, and living from a place of love, for myself and others?

If not, make a list of what you can do this week, to help your body do some detoxification.  You are worth it!

It’s like decluttering the room, before you can bring in the new furniture, and put up the new window treatments.

It’s Feng Shui for the Body, Mind, and Soul. To Be Continued…
